I have a confession to make. I didn’t blog this wedding as fast as I could have. Indeed, it wasn’t because I was lazy, or didn’t feel like blogging. No. It was because I wanted to do this wedding justice. Every picture radiated elegance and just HAD to be on the blog. In the end, I narrowed it down to 47 frames, which is hardly enough to encapsulate the awesomeness of this nuptial.

Angela and Byron had a fantastic wedding at the Villa Di Felicita in Tyler — a place that’s just so easy to shoot at. I’d love to take credit for how great every photo looks, but when you have a background like that, it’s hard to take a bad photo.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while (you have, haven’t you?) you’ll know that my absolute favorite inanimate object to shoot is, without a doubt, wedding rings. It’s one of the most challenging aspects to the wedding day because I have to slow down and be creative and deliberate at the same time. On top of that, it takes a specialized lens to focus closely and lighting equipment to create a soft glow. Getting the tip of the diamond in focus requires a good deal of effort and the end result is so rewarding.

Wow, what a great way to end the month. Candice and Alex’s wedding at the Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville was super fun to shoot. This place as so many cool spots and neat exteriors. I can’t wait to shoot there again.

Alex just graduated from the Army Ranger school, which is something I could never do.

I was extremely excited to work with my good friend and amazing videographer Vanessa McKellar. Her work is awesome and I cannot wait to see the video from this wedding.

On March 28th I was shooting a wedding for Andrea and Steven at Tyler Presbyterian church when I was approached by a woman who asked me if I was available on October 17th. I love booking weddings, especially while I’m AT a wedding. Well, October has rolled around and I was super excited to shoot Kristina and Jeremy’s wedding at the church as well as Eagle’s Bluff country club. It’s always tough to shoot at the same place twice, but I think I managed to get some great new stuff. Check it out.

Kristina and Jeremy opted for a “first look” before the ceremony started. It was a fantastic idea!

I love this church. It’s not your typical East Texas church, and is a blast to shoot in.

And then there was dancing…

This past Saturday I traveled to the long lost city of Bedford, Tx – a city of about 40,000 people and 10,000 laundromats. Inbetween the laundromats was St. Timothy’s Presbyterian church, where Kimberly and Marc got married. Have a look.

This is the ring by which all other rings are measured by.

Saturday weddings in the fall and college football fans don’t always mix. Marc got updates from the Texas game all day. Texas won, which I’m sure is a good omen.

Marc taught Kimberly’s son to do the “hook em horns” thing.

These flower girls were awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such perfectly scattered flowers.

However, no one told them to stop once they got to the alter.

By the time we got to the reception venue the sun had fallen. We shot a bunch of pictures anyway.

And then…it was dance time.

Kimberly’s bustle broke, which happens at just about every wedding. Good thing her bridesmaids worked on it so she could keep on dancin’.
