Once upon a time there was a lad named Greg and a gal named Mamie. Greg was from London and Mamie was from Bullard. Their meeting in college at the University of Texas in Austin was anything but miraculous. On October 24, 2009, these two pond-hopping lovebirds were married at an incredible backyard wedding in Tyler.

Apparently, in London, the groomsmen don’t shoe-polish the car windows of a married couple. Instead they write on the side with dry erase markers. The results were comical. I have no comment for some of the things written on the truck. They’re for your entertainment only.

Ahem….now….on to the ceremony.

We walked down the street after the ceremony to get some shots against the neighbor’s hedges. The British half of the wedding party was afraid the neighbors would shoot us. This IS Texas after all.

After shooting 26 weddings last year, I love seeing couples who do things differently. Example A: this awesomely red wedding cake.

Greg’s brother decided to show a slideshow of their childhood as his “toast.” It was perhaps one of the most hilarious wedding toasts I’ve ever seen.

And then, there was dancing.
